Founded in 2021 by Aimee, a seasoned fashion photographer and designer based on Australia’s Gold Coast, the brand was born out of a very real need: a camera bag that was as stylish as it was practical, and most importantly, 100% vegan. After years in the fashion industry, Aimee found herself back in freelance work following maternity leave. On a photography assignment in Uluru shortly after the birth of her youngest daughter, she realised how uninspired and utilitarian her camera bag felt. Unable to find an option that aligned with her fashion-forward, cruelty-free values, she decided to design her own. With a background in both fashion and graphic design, the process felt natural—and deeply personal. Named after her daughter Violet Mae, and inspired by her eldest, Rubie, whose name graces the brand’s debut (and bestselling) camera bag, the brand quickly resonated with creatives around the world. What began with one thoughtfully designed piece has evolved into a growing collection of high-quality, vegan camera bags and accessories for photographers, videographers, and creatives who believe their gear should reflect their personality. Violet Mae is more than a brand—it’s a celebration of creativity, individuality, and conscious design.
